In keeping with our theme of meh...
Konstantine texted me again and wants to drop by next weekend. I tried to act as uninterested as I could without saying no, because I'm lame like that. I want her to stop by, but I shouldn't. The happier she is, the more miserable I am - and vice versa.
Today is one of my really good friends' birthday, and I was all set to go back to the Stewart area and spend the next couple days down there, but right when I was trying to figure out how I should wear my scarf (compliments of one of my team leaders from Iraq) I got a call from my sergeant and he told me he needs me to work for someone else today. GAH! So I rip off my clothes, dry shave(slaughter) my face, and get into my ACU. I put a foot in my pants and I get a text - "Stand down". Alright...
So I text him back, ""Am I good to go down to hinesville then? It's my best friend's birthday."
His quick response, "Go"
Awesome. I take off my clothes again, feeling like one of those girls who just can't decide what to wear for her date in 10 minutes. I throw on what I was wearing before, throw the scarf over my neck and I hear it again - DROID!
"Hey standby for a hour"
Kew. I look at my scarf and it looked back with a menacing grin. Needless to say it's now piled with my change of clothes, brownies, and hygiene bag. I'm not putting it back on until I am safely down at Caleb's.
I wasted my entire day yesterday at iwastesomuchtime.com (Thanks Dippy). My buddy Zach came over and we got to something like page 80 on it sipping on some whiskey and coke and chowing down on some Allyanna's pizza *yum*! We made brownies, which turned out pretty good despite Zach putting more Pam on the pan than there was brownie batter. I had a very interesting dream, but sadly that's all I remember about it. I know a lot of people from back home were in it but I can't remember specifically who. Well, I guess I'll go outside and mope until my sergeant shows up and makes some insincere apology about how he was just following orders and yada yada. Hopefully the rest of today goes more swimmingly.

She texted...
Interesting that the yesterday was the first time I gave real thought to Konstantine in a long while, and today she texted me. I really wish I could just tune her out of my life. I remember years ago deleting her number and removing her from Facebook, yet she's still in my phone and we are Facebook friends. I know she's trouble, my brain scream trouble any time her name comes up or a Something Corporate song plays, but there's still a part of me that wants to believe that she can change, that she actually loves me. Yeah, right.
Since I've been at Hunter, my role as a Corporal has gone down the toilet. The only time me being a Corporal comes into affect is when I'm in trouble. Then it comes to, "You're a Corporal, you should know better." I got in trouble with the Department of Emergency Services (the civilian side of our law enforcement duties) and they told me that I'm not in charge of anyone while I'm out on the gate, that we are all working together and there is no distinction between DES and military. He goes on to tell me that at least one military and one DES has to work each rotation - we work in 30 minute or hour rotations switching back at forth. His sergeant from DES jumps down my throat because she's having a bad day, then she calls him and I get chewed out for it. The other problem with all of this is almost all the DES guys are prior military 20-25 year former soldiers who retired as First Sergeants or Master Sergeants, which obviously they consider to hold pull over me. I can't stand being told that my authority over my soldiers ends when we start work - that's ridiculous.
The other problem is I have a sergeant over me with no backbone. He does whatever he can to avoid any sort of confrontation, usually in the form of doing whatever his peers tell him to do and taking his frustration out on me and the other soldiers. He actually walked into my room while I was writing this and told me he's doing more room inspections because a sergeant (same rank as him) from the other shift asked him if our rooms were clean. He told this sergeant that we were at PT (we weren't he was lying), yet he cannot bring himself to lie about me missing a shift. I cannot stand it. I feel like I've worried too much about what other people may think about me and what they may say about me, and not nearly enough about myself and my future.
I got bad windburn today and my lips are extremely chapped; I have a horrible habit of licking my lips...

Oh hi, I totally forgot about you!
In part (in most) it's because despite everything I've learned and decided to change, I still can't commit. To relationships, to projects, to working out, to keeping my room clean. So here's to hoping I can start writing again and stick with it.
So how about a no bullshit update on my life? Yeah, that sounds nice.
So I guess I'll go back a ways, since that's how long it's been.
The last person I had sex with destroyed my heart. She's done it once before, and of course I didn't learn my lesson. That was well over a year ago now. Thanksgiving 2010 she had me over with her dad and sister. After dinner her neighbor came over and necked with her. I left back to base later that night, and that was the last time I talked to her. My love life since then has been almost entirely non-existent. I've been interested in some women in the normal Nick way, but nothings come of it, mostly my fault I guess. I tell a lot of the people I work with that I had sex a couple weeks ago with a chick down in Florida, but that's mostly to get them off my case and so I don't have to think about Konstantine. I was kissed a couple nights ago by someone I'm not really interested in.
I feel like there's so much I need to get done but never do anything aside from sit on the computer looking at porn or facebook or watching Netflix or playing video games. I need to start working on applications for schools for Fall '12 semester. I plan on going to U of I for engineering, but I'm not sure if it'll be hands-on engineering or the computer side of the coin. I try to imagine what I would absolutely love doing as a career and I have trouble thinking of anything. The only things I know for sure is I like being a team leader in the Army and I want kids. I could never stay in the Army though, it's not for me. I know everything else is political, but with other jobs at least you have the chance to say, "I quit," as practical as it may or may not be.
I really want to quit smoking, but haven't really been able to. I also wanted to start a work out program, possible P90X or something similar. Something I can do in the room, but I'm of course worried that I will fall through on it like I do with everything else.
I'm stationed at the Army Air Base near my old one now. I live in a double-wide trailer now, and have my own washer/drier and a stove/oven. That being said, with plans for cooking, I always end up forgetting to buy things. For example, I bought eggs and forgot a frying pan. Got the fying pan and forgot Pam. Got Pam and forgot a mixing bowl (since I like my eggs scrambled.) So I really haven't done a lot of cooking. I have brownie mix waiting to be made and I'm strongly thinking about making Pancakes this morning before work at 3:30.
I have a horrible feeling in my gut that a lot of my friends from back home are growing apart from me. I know in a sense it's true and of course I'm to blame because I'm one of those people who never ends up going out of his way to get in touch. My mom calls me every now and then, and those few times I actually do pick up I end up feeding her some bullshit line about why I didn't answer before and why I didn't call back. I'm starting to grow apart from my closest military friends back at Ft Stewart. I used to spend so much time with White, babysitting his daughter and step-daughter, drinking at his neighbors, and now It's been almost two months since I've seen him.
I've postponed getting maintenance done on my car for almost 3 weeks now. Another thing I just don't end up doing that I should be.
I have a horrible feeling like I may not be going anywhere with my life, and the worst part of it is I don't feel any kind of drive to change it or make things better. I feel like I'm just drifting along and really feel like I need to get my act together.
But I still go about every day extremely optimistic, even on my worst days.
